The quickest 10 km of them all

Have I told you I am a running enthusiast? :) Well, I really am. I have been running for 6 years now and I keep going on. And the appetite for being quicker and running longer keeps rising!

The other day my friend asked me, where does my endless motivation come from. He kind of surprised me with the question. But what surprised me even more is that I did not know how to respond. :) Seriously, I have no idea where it comes from! :)

Does it matter? It is definetely interesting knowing why. So today I was digging through my thoughts and trying to get to it. Well, I can say that I am quite competitive by nature. Especially when it comes to sport. Even when riding my bike through the city I cannot resist overtaking others. :D Guilty, I admit. :) The other, even stronger motivator is exploring the ability of my body. I mean, knowing that I can be really quicker just by training six times per week. Isn’t is fabulous? :) I hope this does not sound odd … But I really do not need any other motivator. It is not the money, or fame (haha, I get few minutes of it if I run myself a medal :D) or all the likes on Facebook. Which is great, of course, but this is not the reason why I run. I am the reason, me managing my body to become better and quicker.

And last month the prize came. No, I did not stand on the winning podium. :) But I reached my goal. Well, outran my goal by 2 minutes. Yes, I did it! :) I attended 19th Ljubljana Marathon and did it. I run on 10 km track and with the result of 42:06 minutes finished as the 14th of 3.597 runners. Happy! I already set my goal for the 20th marathon in my favourite city. ;) I will not tell you the number, let me keep it a secret. :)

Feeling happy after the finish :)
