Happy jogger diary – Prekmurje

This week was all about the series of three races in Prekmurje, that me and Neja participated in the last 4 weeks. The event is “Adventni tekaški pokal”, which I can translate into “Advent Running Trophy”. Actually there were 4 races, but we only attended 3.

The first race was in Bratonci, a small village near Murska Sobota, the second was in Beltinci, but we skipped that one, last Saturday we drove to Odranci and today was the finals in Murska Sobota. Every race was long approximately 4 kilometers, which really suits me, because the match ends sooner than those with 10 kilometers. ;)

I am still learning to be a champion, not to give up even when the body says no … Trainings with Neja actually help, because every time I try to take some of her steelness. The first race and today my average speed was around 4,10 minutes per kilometer which is ok, but nothing special. The second was 3,50 and I still do not now, how that happened with only 4 hours sleep the night before! :D Well, I was partying all night on Friday and  I was told that the tiredness comes two days after, which is … today. So, lesson learned. Big time. :)

Nevertheless, I was enormously surprised at the end of the trophies ceremony. The speaker called my name! :D I was sure there was a mistake, but it turned out that alltogether I ended in 6th place! And I got a plaque and even some cash! :D I could not believe it! :D I was sooo happy that words cannot explain. It gave me so much motivation for the future. :) Yes!

Me in the 6th place :)
