Ljubljana wine route – St. Martin’s Day in Ljubljana

In November in Ljubljana an event took place, which is only one little reason more, why I love the city: Ljubljana wine route – St. Martin’s Day in Ljubljana. Almost everytime I visit this wine route, because I enjoy in the vibe of the street, full of stands and people, ready to jump into wine world.

In Slovenia we have a strong attitude towards wine. To some wine is just one way to get drunk, and others are precise experts, that are meticulously smelling and tasting different sorts of this elegant drink. I cannot put myself in any of these two groups. :) I am still in a process of getting to know all the opportunities the wine offers. Yes, opportunities. Wine, to me, is not just a drink you order when you go out. It is a welcome topic for a conversation to a stranger or a great excuse to visit the new restaurant. :) Having at least some knowledge about His Majesty is an indicator of being intelligent. Let me put it this way: the wine is “intelegant” (elegant and intelligent). :)

I like wine route, because everytime there is full of people. It is kind of a social place, where you meet old and new “intelegant” friends. Well, I was lucky to meet one of the strangest people I have ever met. I do not recall his name and I am not even sure, if he told me the right one. I would describe him as a bohemian. He recited me a poem and promised to send it to me via email. And from my left palm he read that I have something special in my soul and that I have clear goals. :) Weird or not, it is nice to hear such positive things from a complete stranger. :)

Of course, I do not visit these kind of events without my camera. Hope you can feel and taste at least some of the great energy on the Stritarjeva street.
